01Contact / Sanitized technical brief

What does your team need to learn, build, or decide?

Start with a concise, sanitized description of the system, its current stage, and the technical uncertainty. Private material and access are discussed only after fit, scope, confidentiality, and boundaries are clear.

02Safe first contact

Enough context to assess fit. No sensitive access required.

The first exchange should establish the technical area, decision, available evidence, and safest next step. It is not a secure upload channel or a request for production access.

Useful to include

  • The technical area and current research or production stage
  • What is uncertain, failing, expensive, or difficult to compare
  • What the team must learn, build, evaluate, integrate, or decide
  • A desired timeframe and any useful public or sanitized links

Leave out

  • Credentials, secrets, API keys, or passwords
  • Production data, raw customer records, or regulated personal data
  • Private repository access or confidential third-party material
  • Broad cloud, workspace, or production-environment permissions

If private material may be necessary later, mention the type of access without sending it. Scope, confidentiality terms, least-privilege boundaries, and the handling process come first.

03Technical brief

Describe the uncertainty, not the secrets.

Use the form to prepare an email you can review before sending. A call is also available when the system boundary is easier to explain live.
